Wow, Daria, I had no idea Chat could do so much and that there were different 'versions'...for different purposes. That's amazing. I did have Chat Plus for awhile and I guess I didn't understand all it could do. Thank you so much for posting this. You are my 245th bedtime story!

Bedtime story #245 is an honor 😊

And yes, once you start customizing how ChatGPT thinks and works for you, it changes the game completely. If you ever need help to build one, let me know.

I've created a few of my own custom GPTs. I've trained mine pretty well at this point. I tried your repurposing GPT and popped one of my articles in there and it was brilliant!

What kind of Custom GPTs have you built? Really curious.

Thank you for the feedback! If you end up testing one of the GPTs, I’d love to hear how it goes or what you’d tweak :)

This is such a helpful guide for those that want to personalise their ChatGPT experience. Instead of using ChatGPT ad hoc, users can build their own assistants that reflect what they want in terms of: tone, structure, and recurring tasks without any code. And while this feature has been here for a long time, it's surprisingly not that many users actually know that it even exist or at least use it.

Right?? I’m also surprised by how underused Custom GPTs still are, especially when they’re literally designed to save time for exactly the people who feel they don’t have time to set them up. 😅

This is one of the the clearest breakdown I’ve seen on turning GPT into a workflow asset, not just a toy. Custom GPTs as repeatable systems, game-changer. Thanks for making it so actionable!

This is fantastic! I don't have Pro ChatGPT account, I have it on Claude instead - does it work the same?

Daria Cupareanu's avatar

I haven’t personally used Claude’s Projects, but from what I’ve seen, they’re meant to work similarly to Custom GPTs. I imagine you could recreate something close.

Just keep in mind that different models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) each respond to prompts in slightly different ways, so there’s usually a bit of testing and tweaking involved.

But even without GPT Pro, you can still use the free versions of the Custom GPTs I created. And if you want to try them out in Claude first, you can paste the full prompt directly into a new chat and see how it performs before setting up a full Project.

Let me know how it goes if you try it, I’d love to hear!

This is so helpful. I actually didn't know anything about Custom GPTs. I'll try it next time. Thank you so much. I guess it'll save time in some way although I like the research process myself.

Glad you found it useful! And yep, if you're referring to the the brainstorming one, it might be a great fit for you. It’s designed to start with your thoughts, ideas, and direction, so it feels more like a collaborator than a shortcut. You’ll still do the creative thinking… it just helps sharpen and organize it. Let me know what you think when you give it a go.

Custom GPTs are an amazing tool! I've made a couple in the past, but I've since cancelled my Plus subscription. There are still lots of them made by others (including the one you shared with me) which are incredibly useful.

That’s strange. Double-check that you’re logged into your ChatGPT account. If you are, try opening the link again in a new tab or incognito window.
