Love this hands on guide and really appreciate your using of Guidde for the process, Daria! I might give Guidde a try! Thanks for putting up such an informative read.
Having used Manus, I somehow didn't find this upgrade of ChatGPT that exciting. Manus has severe interface acccessibility issues for screen reader users, but it definitely performs some very complex tasks fasgter. For example: I asked Manus to list out all the smartphones on Amazon India that costs less than Rupees 10,000 and got the list in less than ten minutes.
But ChatGPT has always been my goto tool for writing, proofreading and correction. The agentic tools are good for web search, getting some documents ready --such as worksheets for my writing community.
This is an interesting post. Thanks for the share.
Indeed, Manus is more powerful for now, it’s been on the market for a longer time, GPT Agent is still in beta. But I think it’s much needed for regular GPT users who do not want to pay for yet another subscription.
Yes, totally agree. If someone is used to ChatGPT, they might like to subscribe and will be happy when it transforms into an agent. Also, Open AI is focusing intensely on India. They have introduced ChatGPT Go, a plan for just Rupees 399, a very cheap option for users. This is also widening the use of GPT-5.
This looks like a serious step forward in making AI practical for everyday work. The ability to handle multi-step tasks and interact with the web directly could be a significant productivity booster, definitely a promising evolution.
I think the biggest good is that it can actually take over the manual, time-eating work. The best way to try it is with something that isn’t urgent but would normally mean a lot of copy-paste, like pulling info from different sites, gathering it in one place, and putting it into a sheet or doc - basically things regular GPT couldn’t do and would still require manual work on your end. Then, you can let it run in the background while you focus on other work.
You could give it the link to your publication, ask it to click into each post and read it thoroughly, then analyze which topics got the most engagement by checking likes, comments, and restacks. You can also attach a file with your post insights from your dashboard (views, shares, clicks, how many subscribers they generated), then ask it to propose new topics to explore and even draft them.
Hey Jess, after writing that comment to you, I wanted to test how it works, but unfortunately, the Agent can't read your Substack articles because Substack doesn't allow it. But you can export your content as csv from the Settings, and create sort of manually the dashboard with the engagement OR if you got them saved as Google Docs, like I do (with comments included & engagement metrics), you can take them from there.
I actually found a workaround, will post it in a future article!
Plus works too, but with fewer messages, so you need to be more careful not to waste them. I’d suggest drafting your prompts in regular ChatGPT first. You can use my prompts as a starting point, or even attach my full article with my learnings, and ask it to adapt the prompts in the article and consider all the things mentioned in it, to your use case.
Actually, you’ve given me an idea to try an e-book about claiming purpose and friendships in our second chapter and using that as a freebie for subscribing to my sub stack. I have a lot of writing done so I have a lot, I can feed the AI using your prompts.

Thank you so much, Jenny! Guidde really makes documenting the process smooth

Didn’t know that, it’s good they make it more accessible

Yes, exactly! it feels like the first time AI can actually do some work end-to-end instead of just giving text back
Thank you for sharing this Daria.
Happy to, have you tried the ChatGPT Agent?
I’m not an expert in this area-
If you had to sum it up, what’s the single biggest “good” you’d highlight for someone trying Agent Mode for the first time?
I think the biggest good is that it can actually take over the manual, time-eating work. Thank you for sharing, I’m gonna try it for content creation of my Substack posts, as it seems like a no brainer!
Glad it’s useful! How I’d approach it:
You could give it the link to your publication, ask it to click into each post and read it thoroughly, then analyze which topics got the most engagement by checking likes, comments, and restacks. You can also attach a file with your post insights from your dashboard (views, shares, clicks, how many subscribers they generated), then ask it to propose new topics to explore and even draft them.
Oh, and you can also add in the prompt to mirror your writing style and tone.
That’s fab, thank you! I’ve trained an agent on my writing style and it works quite well!

Amazing, thanks for the attention to detail Daria, I’ll give it a try!
Oh - well done by the way. I’m interested in ebook generation.
Tag me when it's out, I definitely want to see it!
It will be a while since I’m editing my debut novel. But will do!!! Thanks!
Do you need a pro account to access Agent?

Perhaps a dumb question. How/Where do I go into the Agent Mose?
Check the video tutorials in the post. I showed there. If you're using the app, look for the "Agent" icon. It's the one next to "Deep research" icon.
Actually, you’ve given me an idea to try an e-book about claiming purpose and friendships in our second chapter and using that as a freebie for subscribing to my sub stack. I have a lot of writing done so I have a lot, I can feed the AI using your prompts.
Nice! Just make sure to adapt the prompt for your own situation.
After the eBook is generated, you can upload it into Gamma to recreate the design. Be sure to select Document (not presentation or social materials).
I just ran a test:
- Here’s the eBook created by GPT Agent: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m0waR8-HPeBHbvjdAq_S1OSLt4-531Fe/view
- Here’s what Gamma turned it into: https://gamma.app/docs/AI-for-Beginners-Building-Your-Second-Brain-with-Artificial-Intel-cx1srz5zug951ps
I think it looks amazing!
Thanks Daria!!
Do you need a Pro account for Agent?
Yes, it doesn't work without a Pro or Plus account. But if you use GPT regularly, I think it's worth it anyway.
I have Plus
It works for Plus users, you get 40 messages per month
