I analyzed 3,905 hooks across 17 industries and 7 social platforms, then built a Hook Writer that writes scroll-stopping hooks for any format and platform.
This was fun, maybe with some twists specific to my use case...
I'm working on Draft #3 of a science-fiction novel, and asked the Amplifier to craft hooks that I could use in promoting the novel on social media to potential readers, and in queries to literary agents and editors. (FWIW: using Claude Opus 5, high effort.) First few sentences of the response:
"I read Draft 3 and ran four searches of the Hook Writer swipe file. The swipe file has no books or fiction category, so most of these hooks keep only the structure of a proven line and swap in your material. The agent and editor lines are written from the method alone, because nothing in the swipe file covers query letters."
I don't know if those missing pieces are worth adding to the Amplifier's swipe file, but thought I'd pass that note along.
But as far as the actual hooks it came up with for the different use cases: there's real gold there -- thank you!
Daria, how you keep coming up with this genius just literally blows my mind. Thank you for doing this and then sharing it with us!! I can't wait to add it to the list of regular Amplifiers I use 😍
Haha, it wasn’t that deliberate at the beginning. The ideas always come while you’re in the middle of doing the work :)) Can’t wait to hear what you think of it 🤗
There are YouTube video titles inside - they aren’t separated into podcast episodes vs other types of videos, but the learnings from the wider YouTube library can definitely be applied to podcast titles too!
The visual-versus-caption split is the practical takeaway. Most people waste both slots saying the same sentence twice instead of stopping the scroll, then giving a second reason to stay.
The data was super insightful! I was lazy in the past and used to write captions that were too similar to what was on the visual, but now I’ve got everything I need to step up my game.
Yes I had used the social media hooks tool which did a robust job but yes indeed this came up with a better for my project. .thankyou soooooo much. Will say it again I am so glad I found you ❤️
So, so glad you got great results with it 🤩 you’ve gotta tell me more about what you’re using all the content creation Amplifiers for, via DMs or wherever you prefer. I’m cooking something, but I’ll come back with more details soon.
Holy Shmoly, Daria, Hook Writer is INCREDIBLE (and I don't use ALL CAPS that much). Stunning job. I threw it some curve balls on an upcoming article and my mind is blown. Quality job.
ahhh I’ll sign up for the 87-hour day anytime :)))))
I didn’t gather as many examples for articles, like titles and subtitles, but I’ll work on growing that part of the library too! in the meantime, it's great that it can borrow what it learned from the other platforms and apply it to articles too.
The best keeps getting better, Daria!
After your headline and subhead, nothing grabs the reader’s attention and “stops the scroll” like a great hook!
Haha, exactly!! thank you, Mike!
Omg! You are amazing!! I am so amazed at how you solve problems!!! Can’t wait to try this out!!
Ahhh, thank you so much, Christine!! I can’t wait for you to try it either <3

Interesting, we might expand into that category too. Thx for passing this along & super glad it still found some real gold for you!
Major cool!🩷🦩 mind officially blown!
mission accomplished 💜
love that for you 🦩🩷
Did you look at any low-performing content to compare?
I didn’t, but that would be the next level of this research. I’ll keep working on the swipe file tho, so it continues to grow and get better.
Love this idea, looking forward to your report on how they performed.
Love this, can't wait to try it!
Please do & come back to tell me how it went! 🤗

okay, this is amazing. curious if there is a podcast episode title option for the Hook
Writer.

This makes me SO happy, Rich!!
We should normalize ALL CAPS :))
I played around a little more with Hook Writer in Amplifiers while working on my Tuesday article in two places…
1) The headline and subhead: It gave me different examples that SMACKED and I'm excited to see the effects.
2) NOTES ramping up to Tuesday planting seeds and styling…and, of course, some phrasing I hadn't considered that was so strong.
I need to play in Amplifiers more often. I need a 87-hour day.

Daria, you’re just awesome. I love how your brain works. You look for patterns and cases, then turn the experiments into something useful. 🤗
Thank you, Katherine 🤗 my brain really does love turning one small idea into a full research project :))
Oooo excited to try them out
and I’m SO curious what you’ll think of the LinkedIn hooks, Mel. You know that platform inside out, so please report back once you’ve tried them 😄
